Web poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years several variations on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling blackjack than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or different types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the dealer saying "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course all of the other players are given 5 cards. After you have seen your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you need to either make a call bet or surrender. The call wager’s amount is akin to your beginning ante, which means that the risks will have doubled. Abandoning means that your wager goes instantly to the casino. After the wager is the showdown. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, including an amount on par with the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The house pays out cash even with your bet and controlled odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
