Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient origins. Founded on the old Chinese domino game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the eastern with the wild west in an excellent game for starting gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler versus the dealer, not like most other poker games that gamblers play against other players. By gambling against the dealer, beginner players don’t have to fret about other, more knowledgeable individuals winning their moolla.

One more Pai Gow advantage is the generally slow game pace, beginners are able to take their time and strategize without needing to make hasty decisions.

It is also easier to enjoy for a long time with only a small amount of money seeing as, to lose, both of your hands must be under each of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The player is given seven cards face up and the dealer gets 7 cards faces hidden.

A five card hand and a 2 card hand need to be put together from the seven cards, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the casino’s.
